It started with a day, then a week, a month, and now… here we are, faced with a new challenge, a brand-new year. Time passes, people change and memories fade. We make commitments, promises, we throw ourselves into new directions, new challenges. We run, we want success and fast, we crave for more every second of our lives. We race, but time is faster. Here’s a secret, time is smarter. You can’t trick it. Sounds like a cliché but it really never stops. A blink of an eye and everything has changed.

The media is blooming with new year’s resolution, lists, must-do’s. In other words, promises that may or may not happen, aspirations, dreams that never come true. I won’t do such thing. I won’t tell you to organise your life with a pencil and a pice of paper. For me, that’s just not the right way. You can’t plan everything. Life is made to be lived. Try new things, meet new people, travel to new places, focus on the bigger picture, the essence of life.

My advice, make a mental list of things that make you happy, the little ones. Surround yourself with people that deeply care for you, smile more, think positive, forgive, help, allow yourself to make mistakes, spend some time alone, pray, read, drink tea, laugh lots, dance, exercise, treat yourself, and meditate. This new year will have ups and downs. Sometimes you’ll be excited and thrilled and sometimes you’ll be sad. Embrace each experience.

Oh, and one more little thing… regret nothing.

“We are so obsessed with doing that we have no time and no imagination left for being. As a result, men are valued not for what they are but for what they do or what they have – for their usefulness.”
